Rachel Berger, MSPT, specializes
in manual therapy, which is a hands-on technique used to
improve a person's alignment, elongate tissue, and relax
tight structures. It can help decrease the effects of trauma
or chronic irritation. Rachel has been trained in
and utilizes the following manual techniques:
Craniosacral Therapy works
with the connective tissue that surrounds the brain and spinal
cord by using the bones of the head and pelvis. This can
redirect fluid flow and decompress structures such as nerves
and brain tissue.
Myofascial Release eases
areas of tension in the fascial system, a web-like connective
tissue that acts as a support system for the entire body.
Releasing this tissue allows the surrounding structures to
return to a more functional position and have better ease
of movement.
Lymphatic Drainage Therapy uses
gentle massage to assist the movement of fluid that resides
in the lymphatic system just beneath the surface of the skin,
thus decongesting the area, decreasing swelling, and promoting
improved fluid dynamics.
Visceral Mobilization works
with the connective tissue surrounding the organ structures
and their attachments to the spine. Improving the mobility
of the organs will allow the connecting structures increased
freedom of movement and improved function.
